Angie Golden has 25 years of nursing experience. Angie received her BSN in 1977 from Ball State University, a masters in nursing education in 1996 from the University of Phoenix, and completed her Masters in Science with a family nurse practitioner certification in 1998 from Northern Arizona University. She presently works in emergency departments as a nurse practitioner, continues doing ground transports in Northern Arizona, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Northern Arizona University teaching in their undergraduate and nurse practitioner programs. Angie regularly presents at the local, state and national level and has been published numerous times in journals and texts, having edited the Flight Nursing Review Manual. Angie is honored to be the recipient of the 2001 ASTNA Jordan Award and the 2002 Distinguished CFRN Award.
Her clinical experience covers all areas of critical care; neonatal, pediatric and adult, as well as emergency department nursing in Level I & II trauma centers. She has over 18 years experience in transport care of all ages. She is a member of numerous organizations, including the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association (serving as the chairperson for the continuing education committee), American Nurses Association (serving as a chapter vice president), and is the state representative for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is an instructor for PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNATC and a regional faculty for the American Heart Association for PALS and ACLS.tw
Angie is married with two wonderful sons and now three incredible grandchildren allowing her to continue her growth in understanding children of all ages.
Children with special healthcare needs present the provider with new challenges. During this presentation, we will discuss medical problems experienced by children with special health care needs, the medical devices commonly used by technology-assisted children, and review specific assessment and management considerations for children with special health care need.

During this presentation, you will learn the 'keys' to recognition or suspicion of suspected non-accidental trauma, injury patterns associated with suspected non-accidental trauma, as well as the initial management and medical legal aspects of these situations.
