Lisa started out in the world of EMS in 1991 working for a private ambulance service, with dreams of becoming part of a medevac flight team one day. However, in April of 1993, after living through a horrific ambulance crash while she was transporting a critical pediatric patient, Lisa's ideas about what she thought her future would look like were altered forever! What she used to call "the worst night of my life," ultimately put her on the path to becoming an EMS Business Development Director, Children’s 911 Safety Advocate, entrepreneur, and finally the Co-Founder and President/CEO of Pedi-Ed-Trics Emergency Medical Solutions, LLC, one of the largest dedicated pediatric emergency education companies in the United States. Recently, Lisa launched Pedi-Ed-Trics into the global marketplace and is now providing pediatric programs and training products in over 20 countries worldwide. Through seminars, hands-on skills labs, and pediatric training resource materials, PediEd has been focusing on the needs of educators, nurses, medics, and respiratory therapists for nearly 25 years.
Lisa has been presenting nationally for over 15 years and provides consulting services for small business start-ups and entrepreneurs. Lisa is the visionary force behind the multiple award winning "In Seconds" brand of hands-on pediatric emergency training systems, as well as creating more than seven other unique pediatric related products to date. Of note, she is currently consulting with colleagues from Harvard Medical School's Emergency and Disaster Medicine Program on several new hands-on products and courses for EMS. Lisa still manages to work PRN as a Florida paramedic, is the mother of two young adult children, and has been married to her "knight in shining armor," Scott DeBoer RN, for 30 years. Lisa has a very relaxed and informal presentation style, but also an extremely passionate side that comes out during her courses… Especially when it comes hands-on pediatric emergency skills, cardiology and EMS entrepreneurship. Essentially, “doing whatever it takes to help save the lives of children.”
